Terry Malts: Distracted

We could probably echo much of what Crawdaddy is quoted as saying about this San Francisco trio, but just go here to Slumberland and read it for yourself. Listen/download here or there, whichever you prefer. You can also hear and download more fine tunes at the Terry Malts Facebook page. We certainly did. BTW, we woulda/coulda used the I'm Neurotic EP cover picture, but since it kinda scares us, we "opted" for the above. (You probably already knew this, but click that down arrow down there to download.)

Kids On A Crime Spree: Sweet Tooth

"This is some kind of fantastic," thought we upon hearing the widgeted ditty below. And no wonder: Kids On A Crime Spree are headed by Oaklander (former San Antonioan) Mario Hernandez, previously of Ciao Bella and longtime faveband From Bubblegum To Sky. Slumberland Records will launch KOACS's EP, We Love You So Bad, on 31 May. Schweet!

Download it here.

Oh, and for good measure, here's an FBTS song we previously posted.

Widgets Gone Wild: Morning After Girls, TV Girl, Monster Movie, Little Death, Koushik, Glasvegas, Gringo Star, The Drums

morning after gulls

We're no longer afraid of widgets. In fact, we spent several hours plowing through every one of them over at RCRD LBL and were rather wildly delighted to find the following downloadables. Some of them we already had, indeed had already posted--Oh, that Morning After Girls tune. . .mwah!!!--but our links had expired, blah, blah, blah, etc. We weren't sure if posting a long list of widgets would violate some code of blogger aesthetics but we also kind of didn't care. Therefore:

This line is here to make the list look less formidable. (We did say, "kind of.")

In Love With Crystal Stilts

Oblivion's nice, but we'll gladly stay sentient for this song. That moving bass has been delighting us continuously of late, whether through headphones or in our imagination. (So, of course, has the rest of the band.) And in case you were wondering, during our most recent monthly eMusic purchasefest, we acquired the new album's "Blood Barons," "Precarious Stair," and "Half A Moon."

Rec Centre: We Long For Even Longer

Vancouver bedroom musician (one of our favorite kind, btw) Eh Jay's one-man band, Rec Centre, has popped out an excellent EP over at Bandcamp. Here are two of our favorites from Long Weekend; you can get the rest at da camp. Can't wait for a full week's worth.
