Flowers, Wires, Soda, Matthew Melton, Pleasers: Some Past, Present, and Future Incarnations of . . . Matthew Melton

Not sure if you noticed Matthew Melton's excellent new solosong, "Painted Sign," over there in our Songdrop Currents mix, but if you're into any of the Tennessee-to San Fran-to Austin pleaser's other bands - Snake Flower 2, Bare Wires, Warm Soda, or the forthcoming Pleasers - you might wanta check it out. (Click on all those green artist names for further exploration.) A little research at the Southpaw Records SoundCloud page turned up a handful of freebies we're posting below. We might not be evincing sufficient emotion here, but we've been absolutely loving this guy's music for several years now. Oh, one other thing: we put another Snake Flower 2 song in our Currents mix even though it came out around five years ago. If offended, please shoot us (email, comment, finger, whatever).

Ghost Wave Revisited

Tip o' the headgear to Rollo & Grady for the nogginlifting on this one. We've enjoyed this Auckland band for quite awhile now, not least due to previous alertings by the aforementioned R&G. So thanks, R. You, too, G. BTW, most of those previous R&G alertings are still downloadable. Check out more by and about Ghost Wave herehere, here, and here.
