Music of the Sphere: Church, Dramarama, Soft Pack, Thin Lizzy, Ruling Class, P. Hood, Skybox, T. Segall, Rayon Beach, Woods, Iration
As some of these might be disappearing soon, we feel the need for speed. Hope you like. Thanks to the thoughtful hosts.
The Church - Metropolis - Barely Awake in Frog Pajamas
Dramarama - Work For Food - Barely Awake in Frog Pajamas
The Soft Pack - C'mon - Pampelmoose
The Ruling Class - Sleeping Beauty - The White Noise Revisited - We posted a nice one by The Ruling Class here. Some other fine songs are also still viable at that post.
Thin Lizzy - Hollywood - Star Maker Machine
Patterson Hood - Burning Hell - Star Maker Machine - R.E.M.'s is good, too.
Skybox - In A Dream - Tsururadio - Some of you won't like this. Some of you might. Such is life.
Iration - Time Bomb - AWmusic - Caucasian reggae, mon.
Woods - Suffering Season - Raven Sings the Blues
Ty Segall - Caesar - Raven Sings the Blues
Rayon Beach - Memory Teeth - Raven Sings the Blues - As usual, dissensous puts it in terms we can only dream of devising: "fuzz pummeling stomp mixed with space dripped psych" - Inducement or warning? Your call.

The Baseball Project Batting 1.000
from Broadside Ballads
All-star sluggerrockers Steve Wynn, Linda Pitmon, Peter Buck, and Scott McCaughey return for their second at-bat, pitch, inning, game, or something (choose your favorite baseball analogy). It's quickly apparent that if it's batting you choose, they're two-for-two. If it's inning, you can replay the first one here at Powerpopulist or steal over to Bandcamp or Yep Roc Records or ESPN. One nice thing about those other sites is that they'll do an infinitely better job of explaining wth's going on here. Maybe a "blogger's" not supposed to do this kind of thing, but I would like to dedicate this song to my dear friend chadio, a diehard Cubbies fan. Of course, I hope you all like it.

Weezer's Cuomo Jams With Grrrrls
This is so two months ago, but I recently read at Glorious Noise of an intriguing appearance by Weezer frontperson Rivers Cuomo on Chicago Public Radio's Sound Opinions. Cuomo was backed unrehearsedly by Windy City rockpunkgrrrls, The Cathy Santonies. Obviously I liked what I heard, else it wouldn't be up there. You will find four more songs at GloNo if it clicks with you, too, and you're up for more clicking.
