From The Active Listener: Lovebyrd, Prefab Messiahs, Late Pioneers

Master Nathan Ford has just released The Active Listener Sampler 29 and, as usual, it's a doozy. We've posted our three favorites below and suggest you go to Bandcamp and check out the rest (although you could easily do so on any of the three widgets below. At Bandcamp, though, you will find multiple links to information about all 15 bands featured.)

We would like to make special note of the forthcoming (March 10) release of Keep Your Stupid Dreams Alive, the first LP in 32 years by Wormtown (aka Worcester), Mass.'s The Prefab Messiahs. We've had the opportunity to hear the whole LP and can highly recommend seven of the eight songs (the last one seems kind of jokey, although maybe it's just on us). Anyway, be on the lookout for this excellent album.

We also found that Burger Records (which is co-releasing KYSDA along with label KLYAM [Kids Like You & Me]) has made a 27-song Prefab Messiahs compilation called Devolver available for name-your-price download at Bandcamp. It is highly lo-fi and not particularly representative of the forthcoming LP, but we found six songs we particularly liked.

We'll also mention that The Late Pioneers' fine Walbum is available for n-y-p download at Bandcamp. Explore more by German band LOVEBYRD herehere, and here.
