Here are a few recent finds we're loving and you might.

We don't have the foggiest how the Gainesville band pronounces their name, but #5 also plunks our twanger.

We've been rooming with them for a couple of months now and float blissfully. We also very much like #s 15 & 16 on this comp from The Psychedelic Underground Foundation.

It's always good to hear from Britbud "Ballard," aka "Darren." Song #1 was the main one we wanted to post, but Bandcamp took over and put #3 first. #5 is quite naughty. More excelentes here.

We've been on this Ride for a long, long time, now, and this tribute comp from The Blog That Celebrates Itself is well-deserved. Our other favorites are #s 1 & 11. Do we rue the lack of all-time fave "Twisterella?" Not necessarily.

Yes, there it is: Ride's "Twisterella," one of the my five favorite songs of the 90s. The other four? All in good time. This haul is a nice mix of past and current, with plenty of old favorites but also some newbies to try on. Oh, and an historic moment: We post our first nonmusical bit. Sacrilege? Mebbe, but the Cheech and Chong is a long-time fave. We will send it to the bottom of the class, in case you're offended.

My Happymeter surged to 11 when I came across today's post at The Runout Groove. My new friend Jamie (he doesn't know me, but then neither do I) has posted eight songs from the Guided by Voices boxset Hardcore UFOs: Revelations, Epiphanies and Fast Food in the Western Hemisphere . Needless to say, GbV's b-sides would be most bands' a-sides. Jamie has tons of other great songs as well. I particularly liked "You Are the Teacher" by Kidderminster's Meg.

Speaking of GbV, check out Jared's posting of "Surgical Focus" over at 5 Acts. That same post has fine ones by The Aislers Set and Ride.

I really liked The Honeydrips' "(Lack of) Love Will Tear Us Apart," which you can find over at SKATTERBRAIN.
